This is the clarification that we have received from the Environment Agency: "clinical thermometers used for veterinary purposes are classed as fever thermometers, and are therefore from being placed on the market intended for sale to anybody, including vets. Mercury thermometers that are not fever thermometers are only restricted for sale to members of the public."
